Who We Are

Overview

In 1981, in response to a push to establish affiliated groups of returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), a group of RPCVs local to the Albany area banded together and officially established the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Northeastern New York. The purpose of RPCVs of NENY is to promote and advance the Third Goal of the Peace Corps (the Third Goal of the Peace Corps aims to help Americans understand the people and cultures of other countries) and to provide an organization for anyone interested in the mission and work of the Peace Corps, international development, and local volunteerism. RPCVs of NENY provides the opportunity for RPCVs to meet, network and share. The group also engages in advocacy on local and global issues.

Many thanks to Kathy Sanderson, Maseeh Mukhtar, Sarah Janeski, Sara Poggi, Eliot Cresswell, Jeanette Gottlieb, Joe Doherty, Diane Peapus, Augusta Field, Steve Hoyt, Bill Batt, and all our former RPCVs of NENY leaders.

To find out more about RPCVs of NENY, please continue check out our mission, our board, and our official documents and reports. And of course, feel free to contact us at any time.
