Submitted by Eliot
Agenda items:
Augusta's Note (aka Executive Summary!)
Many thanks go
to Kim & Chris for hosting the event, and for everyone's
participation. Sounds like a most productive evening.
Best, Augusta
Eliot's Summary:
We had a great
meeting, though not much business was addressed. Many thanks to the
Andersens for hosting us. Hope to see more of them around.
My brief meeting minutes are below.

Uganda:
Harry mentioned that
he had recently been in contact with the sponsor liaison and was
waiting for an update as to the recipient and any new donation due in
2010. He will provide an update, if there is one, at the next meeting.

Calendars:
I think we sold some
of the 2010 PC calendars ($10/each) and there are more to be had. I
think Harry still has them but correct me if I'm wrong.
Ecotourism
Demecia Williams was in
attendance with her lovely family. She brought along postcards which
advertise Soposo, her burgeoning ecotourism company based in Panama. The group
moved to post a link to her company's website on the RPCVs of NENY
webpage. This might provide a little free promotion for her. Her URL is
www.soposo.com.

Refugee Center:
The refugee center,
beneath the Nipper on South Broadway in Albany (I think), is busy with
new intakes. The group reiterated their need for volunteers and
suggested contacting the Flynns for more info.

The Oral History Project:
The Oral
History project enlisted some new interested interviewees. The group
discussed the need for the History project's committee to move forward
on some of the copyright/release issues, secure some recording
equipment, and arrange a meeting to practice interviews and further
develop the overall interview plan.
Pat (& Joe): We should touch base about scheduling something before the end of the summer to get organized.
Current progress is chronicled here...

Upcoming Events:
Untangle and Becky's
by the lake were mentioned as was the need for an update on membership
dues (I know I owe my share) and status.
Thanks,
eliot
