RPCV-NENY Meeting Notes: Tuesday March 4, 2008
Notes from Augusta:
What a lovely evening in Kathy's delightful house. In those surroundings,
we felt cosseted and comfortable. Certainly, in that conducive
environment, the go-around and telling about ourselves was quite
personal and informative.
As always, the food and drink were delicious, and thanks also go out to
our guest, Rebecca Green, an RPCV who has
joined us after law school in San Francisco, and someone we hope to see
as a permanent member of the Northeast New York regional group.
We also welcomed back Terry Amrhein from his work with FEMA in Baton
Rouge, and Joan and Harry Thornhill, after their Peace Corps-like trip
to their school in Ghana. You three ambassadors are doing great things
for national and international relations.
The issue of dues for this year was brought up, and those people who
are not members of the National Peace Corps Association are asked to
send $15 to our Treasurer, Jeanette Gottlieb. All others send their
dues to the National office, and as as a member organization, we
receive $15 back for each of those RPCVs. It was also reinforced that
those of us who are not members of NPCA think more seriously of the
benefits of becoming members.
Thanks go to Diane Peapus who has worked very hard to bring back our
web site, to find out payment fees and schedules, and to keep us on
track.
Best, Augusta
Amie's PCV recruitment schedule:
Amie will be in the area again April 15 - 16. Her schedule, here, includes Crossgates, the Albany Public Library and the Honest Weight Coop... so, we can stop to say hello.
