RPCV-NENY Meeting Notes:  Tuesday, May 4, 2010
The meeting was held at Van & Sue's in Chatham

Agenda items:
Augusta's Note (aka Executive Summary!)

Sue & Van,

You outdid yourselves last evening, hosting our meeting.  The setting was beautiful, the soft greens of spring sweeping across those hills, the scent of lilacs following us to the picnic pavillion, and held in the house from vases of different varieties of lilacs with purple & white tulips.

Your house lends itself to good conversations and plans being formulated.  Diane led us in a conversation about the 50th anniversary, and as we moved forward with ideas, first Sue, and then Bob Crowley began to shape the ideas into a year-long plan, with events, publicity and connections becoming real.  Sue & Bob will head up the planning process, engaging us in many different ways to get the word out about our regional group and to bring many returned Peace Corps Volunteers together in a gala celebration for the 50th anniversary for the Peace Corps.

Harry & Joan will hold a garage sale at their place on Friday & Saturday, June 11-12, and Harry will pick up large donations with his trailer, especially as Jeanette & Steve begin the steps to leaving their beloved house to move to a bigger, more appropriate place for holding generations of family.  The Thornhills will need volunteers to staff the sale, and will be accepting donations.  Please call first.

It was a delightful and fruitful time, and I thank Sue & Van for hosting, and everyone for participating.

All the best,
Augusta
