Special meeting format: January 2008
Several things are special about our January meeting…
...We will NOT have a potluck
Those
who can meet before the gathering for a quick bite to eat, contact
Harry & Joan who will coordinate a restaurant reservation. harry@thornhills.com or 399-7758
...We will gather on a FRIDAY evening
Friday, January 4th from 6 – 9pm
...We will participate in Mango Tree's First Friday events
First Friday
is a monthly event in Ballston Spa where businesses offer special
sales, special menus, live music, presentations, etc. Mango
Tree's presentation that evening will be International
Volunteers. First Friday is described here… www.ballston.org/First-Fridays/. Mango Tree is at 2124 Doubleday Ave (aka: Rt50), with directions here… www.mangotreeimports.com/our_location.htm
...We will participate by sharing our PCV experiences
We should have our permanent poster and we'll (probably) have a 3-fold presentation board for your contributions.
...Please bring any or all of the following, if possible:
- A few photos
from your PCV experience. If you arrange them into a plastic
sleeve with your name, country of service, other info… or if you
have some other way to present them, that's great. There will be
some extra plastic sheets, but if you lay them out ahead of time, it
might come out nicer. Harry can instruct us on taping the
plastic sleeves to the 3-fold presentation board. ;-)
- A few electronic slides
of your PCV or more recent overseas experiences. If you label the
electronic images with a place name, your name, date or some
interesting one-line info, that would be great. Mango Tree has
all the presentation equipment and we can run a slide show in a loop.
- Wear any COS garb that you might have.
...Bring your shopping list
Mango Tree has plenty of Fair Trade original artwork and pieces from African and Latin American countries.
